Christmas was great with my family at my Grandparents house. We laughed and teased and opened presents. Everyone was happy, Man it made me not want to work ever again and just hang out with my family.
I got Matt and new 30-06 Rifle with a scope and everything, he was SO excited! I am glad because I had to keep it a secret since October! My dad actually bought it and did all the fun research and everything. I was just the bank. Oh wait I haven't paid up yet! YIKES I gotta get some money to my parents! Ahhh the life of being parents.... BUT since my dad got Matt's present he had me get my moms for him so she wouldn't know. My dad got her a black leather purse and all the things you put inside the purse like lotion, band aids, lip gloss, hand sanitizer, pens etc. It was great and my mom was excited about it. Matt got me a new pine bookcase that I love. I am not sure where to put it but it is nice he did a good job. He got me something else too but I think I am going to return it for a different one... We have been doing a little bit of shopping around for it. I will let you know when I get it. Matt also got from my parents a Compound Midar Saw.Well both Matt and I got it he will be using it but probably to make things for me. I am excited about that too, Matt definitely had a mans Christmas, a Gun, and Power tools.
Yesterday I had to work and Matt worked a half day. I also have to work today. We went and saw National Treasure last night. I liked it, it was funny and really entertaining. The only flaw I thought it had is it wasn't as historical as the first one where there were clues that we all knew about and so on. Did anyone know the president had a book? Did anyone else think they set it up for another one?? We also saw Alvin and the Chipmunks on Christmas... uhhhh yeah I think if a saw that when I was 6-8 I would have loved it, to be honest I wasn't all that entertained. Don't go see it in the theatres or rent it. Red box it for a buck, that would be best. I have fallen WAY behind on house duties such as laundry and so on. I hate it when that happens!
Matt doesn't have to work today so he is going shooting with my dad and watching movies with the fam while I work. Good news is I have tomorrow off. That will be nice...
Has anyone heard about Katy? Has she had he baby yet? I don't feel like I am in the loop there... I think I'll go read all your blogs now to get educated haha

Movie time
Sooooo last night Matt HD and Colton made a movie. We watched this episode of ghost hunters and Matt and Colton thought it would be cool to do one themselves. They did it all at our house and it is quite funny. I will HAVE to MAKE SURE that Colton puts it up on his blog. You all will have to remind him. Anyways my house was supposedly haunted by a baby... could it have been BAYLEE? You'll all have to wait and see.
Whelp Christmas is tomorrow and I am finally done with all the shopping. All presents are wrapped and under my Grandparents little tree. Matt claims he has NO IDEA what I got him but I think he all ready knows, but then again that is what I always think and then he is completely suprised! Tonight we are spending the night at my Granparents house with my parents. I havent spent Christmas with my Grandparents for about 15 years i think? Matt is pretty bummed that his best friend went out of town for Christmas. Whats that you say? Will out of town no no JASON went out of town. HAHA so we have postponed sledding until Jason gets back so Matt has time to get an AWESOME sled to rig for him. Those two crack me up and thier adventures.
Another funny thing is we came over on Saturday to watch the BYU vs UCLA bowl game, it was a totally BORING game until the last 3 seconds when my whole family started SCREAMING after the kick, crying, jumping, my dad was on the floor with his head in his hands. THERE IS NO DOUBT ABOUT IT we are TRUE BLUE dyed in the wool. My voice is still a little off from how loud I was screaming. I love football it's the best. Now I have to wait until next August before any sort of footbal action starts again with those Cougs. But the funny part is my Grandpa went upstairs after the game and Tennessee was playing Stanford in Basketball, WOMENS Basketball.. so he watched the game then Suzanne Colt and I walk in this afternoon and he is watching another Tennessee VS Stanford Basketball game WOMENS Basketball game oh no wait IT WAS THE SAME ONE!!! My grandpa loves sports so much that he will A watch womens basketball and B watch the same game twice just because it is on! I thought that was pretty funny.
Well I must get going, just thought I would let you all know all is well in the Spence family and we are looking forward to another lovely Christmas Day. I hope all are happy and healthy this Holiday season.

Christmas Bells are ringing
Soon guys let me tell you. My living room is still a wrapping paper wonderland! I was wrapping my brains out last night after Matt and I finished up some last minute shopping, really for my dad because I CANNOT find a BYU desk Calender anywhere. So I will have to order the 2007 BYU football DVD for him instead. I also had to get his birthday present last night. Birthday and Christmas 2 days apart, he must get jipped a lot so we got him something really good for his birthday too. The weather is CRAZY out here it is snowing like I have never seen! We had to leave this morning at 6:45 to get to work this morning and Matt was still 30 minutes late. Some roads are plowed and salted others are not even touched. Accidents all over the place and delays galore. I am not wanting to go anywhere until they clear up the roads.
Matt and I watched Bedknobs and Broomsticks, my loverly co-worker Bob gave it to me for Christmas. I love the songs and the dancing! Matt and I were laughing that movie is funny funny. A must watch if you guys haven't seen it in a while.
Last day of work before Christmas, I need to clean my house and do a little grocery shopping before anyone comes... we'll see how that goes. Anyways I have to get back to work sorry i have been falling behind on my blogging. I really will try to take more pictures and get em up too..

Man am I in a predicament. Well Jeremy also gave me the heads up on how I can see who checked my blog but at work they block the site I need to go to... SO SOON I will know who is stalking me. SOON so beeeeewwwwwaaaareeee. Just kidding I don't really mind. So I just got all the Christmas card stuff done, they will be in the mail tomorrow. That's good news so all y'all will be getting them soon with a cute little letter and everything. Just thought I would drop a line during this busy busy time of Christmas and young women activities. What the Syrup???
This was Matt and I at the Michigan St. vs BYU Basketball game last Saturday. Those Cougs won again last night, whew. They are pretty good this year I will be excited come March Madness time...I look awful in that picture but Matt looks cute so I guess I can put it up. Tonight a couple things are happening. FIRST THANKS TO ALL who prayed for Matt and his finals he is done and I now have my happy, normal, (still has road rage issues but not as bad) husband for a couple weeks. We have Matts ward Basketball Game and on to finishing our Christmas shopping, getting ready for my big Christmas YW/YM activity that my mom is also doing the same thing back in Oregon (can you say creepy?) and finishing up all the decorations for our house. Yes I know it is the 13th and I am behind but I am determined to get them UP! Oh and the usual of grocery shopping, poor Suzanne has probably lost 15 lbs by moving in with Matt and I. I told her we could starve those pounds off. HAHA Are you so excited Braden ?? AND there is ALWAYS cleaning to be done... ahh the mundane chores. Hope all are having a happy holiday season, and NO I still have not gotten my Christmas cards out either. THEY WILL BE DONE someday... maybe tonight... lets all hope.

Finals
Today and tomorrow Matt has finals. He has been studying like I have never seen him study before. He has been hitting the books for the last week for this Math test tonight. He HAS to get a B to get accepted into the Business program at the U. He has been so stressed about it, I hope he doesn't second guess him self tonight. Even ask Kristin and Will he has been studying like crazy! I also have been very busy with church, Christmas stuff, and work that Matt and I's room looks like a pig sty! Clean clothes, dirty clothes, bed unmade, ohh its bad guys. I can tell you one thing I wont miss the days of finals when all is said and done with school. Poor Nate and Suzanne have had to sit and do nothing because Matt cant study with any music on or the TV on... Such is life. Just thought I would update everyone on how exciting our life is! Matt will be done with finals on Wednesday and he says after that is when he can function again. Say a little prayer that he can do well on his finals! I know I will be...

Okay Okay
Here I am again for another Edition of the Spence Family Blog. Okay all you word pressers out there I didn't know you could see who visited your blog! That's so AWESOME! So uhh how do I get that on Blogger? I want that feature!
Uhh and tomorrow brings a whoooole ton of snow and Babysitting for Kristin and Will while they are at Costco for Wills work Christmas party, that's a sweet party for sure. Unfortunately it is in the morning and Matt and I will be having to wake up at 6:50 to feed Sierra oh wait did I say Matt too? I mean just me,... Because we all know Matt wont be doing that... He can wake up with Jason an hour later how about that! Jason definitely loves his uncle Matt we walked in in the door today and he got all excited to see me because he knew Matt was there too. He gave him a big hug and wanted Matt to hold him for a while. He is so funny and Matt doesn't mind at all. Maybe Sierra will like me more then Matt... Oh and no Kristin Sierra does not look Down Syndrome ahahaha She is paranoid. Then after babysitting we are going to the BYU basketball game and on the way back getting a Christmas tree a real one! Yippee!! I am so excited, the smell of a real Christmas tree in our house.... ahhh I cant wait!

HELP!
Does anyone have a snap shot picture of just Matt and I? I know beggars cant be choosers but the ones that I have found or Kristin has given me arent the best as you can see, and we wanted to use one for our Christmas card photo. I also relaized that rarely do Matt and I take pictures with one another we have about 4 together over the last 2 years of marriage... what? Funny huh? If anyone has time flip though your pictures on your computer and if you see one of Matt and I if you could send it our way? That would be GREAT! Thanks for your help guys.
Also in the news is the fact that Matt and I have no way of getting tickets to the BYU vs. Michigan St. game on Saturday.
You have to do 1 of 2 things to get the tickets (which are free to All Sport Pass holders) Go to the game tonight and when they swipe your card they will give you a ticket or go Thursday or Friday between 9 and 5 to the Marriot Center ticket office in provo to get them. Well DANG Matt has school tonight I have Youth Activities tonight and we both work during the hours of 9 to 5 tomorrow and friday. They said they might have tickets left over to saturday but chances are they will be sold out.... LAME! Just thought I would complain a little bit about those ticket people... ugh

Watch you mouth!
This is Matt. I thought I would share a quick story of what happened at work today. First of all, in leading up to the story, I have to say Mickie claims I have been quite “sassy” with her all weekend. This may be the reason for my remark to a lady who called into our office today. She was asking about her life insurance policy and how much it was for. I told her, “We show you have a $3,000 life insurance plan.” She said, with great discouragement, “That’s hardly enough to bury me with!” Without hesitation, I said, “Yes ma’am, it might get you an expensive shovel.” Oops, didn’t mean to say that out loud. But, fortunately, she took it rather well and replied, with great laughter, “good thing I won’t have to be there to dig the hole.” That comment could have easily taken a wrong turn in a hurry, but I’m proud to report I still have a job in spite of my apparent lack of control over my mouth. I better work on that. Maybe Mickie’s claim is true.
Geez
This week will be busy! I need to finish holiday decorations, get ready for quite a few Young Women activities for my girls, finish Christmas shopping and send all those gifts off! My oh My!
OH AND Matt says we can get my car fixed this week! We signed up for AAA because it wont even start so i would need to be towed somewhere, it cost 50 bucks to tow or 50 bucks to get AAA for a whole year and get it towed for free under that. So we thought why not, plus we might get a few discounts on other things (like we'll really use them but hey its a fun thought). So this week I get my Jeep back. Yay! Then Matt will get his car tuned up and we'll be good to go for the rest of the winter. Christmas is coming fast and I feel like I am falling into all of it, I don't feel prepared enough! I haven't even pulled out my sweater box yet! Ahhh! Oh well I need to get back to work sorry my blogs have been boring lately...
Oh and WHAT UCLA in the LAS VEGAS BOWL AGAIN! UH I don't like that... I wanted Hawaii to loose... boo

Party time!

We had our Christmas Party last night, it was a little early in the year for it but it was still lovely. We had it at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building so it was gorgeous! The food was great and the company was better. I really am thankful for my job and the people I work with they are all awesome. You couldn't ask for better owners. With the market slowing they are determined to retain all the employees that work here even when other title company's are letting go a third to half of their staffs even during this holiday season. Also, they have scrimped and saved to still give a little bonus for the end of the year, which I thought wouldn't even happen. Darrell and Jim are wonderful great men who really do care about thier employees and customers. Just thought I would brag about the company I work for...
I better get going though property taxes are due today, that means it will be busy busy!

Long Weekend
First of all I would like to say Congrats to Nate and Kelly, another little Niece or Nephew will be great! I am excited.
The other reason I am happy and excited is............ Yes GO COUGARS!!! Mountain West Conference CHAMPIONS!!!!!!! I love it. I have footage and I'll have to post it tomorrow because my camera battery was almost dead and I didn't have my charger with me this morning. Kristin will probably have to tell you about how her and Will got in. But it was great fun and I am VERY glad that the outcome was good. I would have been razzed around the office for weeks had they lost. It was yet again another good game.
Thanksgiving was great as well being around family and friends is always nice. I really didn't take any pictures there I am sure most everyone else did so surf around and I sure you will find some. We played football, which is Matt's most favorite part, went bowling, played with Holly and Eric's Wii and ate yummy yummy food. Let me tell you come Friday, Matt and I were sore! It was a lot of fun though.
Suzanne, Colton, Seth, (Colton's friend who lives with my parents) and Kenzie (our cousin on the Bragg side) Slept over at Wal*Mart to get the good deals. I got a present for Tanner and that is about it. Other people I hear got some good deals like Holly and her Cordless Guitar Colton snagged for her. You'll have to ask Holly or Colton about that story.
Friday Matt and I worked and we hung out with family again we missed out on Arts Quiksilver discount, we'll have to wait a little bit then to finish up our Christmas shopping there. Friday night BYU basketball beat #6 ranked Louisville and on Saturday night they were SO CLOSE to beating #1 ranked UNC they ended up losing by ten but they pulled away with seconds left in the game. The whole game was so close!
All and all the weekend was great my voice has been on and off all weekend because of all the fun and I think I might be coming down with something. Last night Matt and I went to bed at 9:30 it was great. Now it back to work... I'll post pictures and videos tomorrow.

Dentist
So ever since I was a kid I have hated the dentist. Not the actual dentist, just how he puts his fingers in my mouth and pulls and drills and uses that sucker thing. Its bad, well usually I require triple the amount of Novocaine that the average person does because if i feel a tinge of "pressure" then i jump a mile high in the chair. Well ever since we moved to Herriman we use Dr. Bromley. He is GREAT! I never feel a thing he always has a good movie ready for me and when he sees tears welling up in my eyes before he give me the Novocaine (I dont do needles) he just keeps on going when he sees my eyes filling with tears. (Yes is still cry and I am 22). Haha See mom, you and dad don't have to hold my arms, legs, and head anymore! Yay! I think this was the first time I went to go get a filling by myself too. What a grown up I am :). Although half my face was numb still when I got to work and I came to find that someone switched my whole computer from BYU to Utah everything. Haha Haha so funny Mike Ross. Oh and here is the syrup, nothing exciting just the world highest block stack ever that i did over the weekend.

Apple Butter
So last night for Young Women's we made Apple Butter. There wasn't enough for the leaders to take home so I got home and thought Heck why don't I make some. So I had Suzanne and Nate run me down to Smiths to buy some Apples.
Here's the deal, You get about uhhh 7-8 apples skin them and cut them up into about 1/2 inch pieces and put them in your Crock Pot along with 1-2 cups sugar (depending on how many apples you want/have) and 2 tsp Cinnamon and 1 tsp Crushed Cloves. Then you let it cook for 8 hours on low. I came down this morning to a very festive smelling house, and I mashed up my apples. I turned off the crock pot and now I am letting it cool and sit so its not so runny. I'll try it tonight and let you all know how it turns out tomorrow. I made a lot so many of you I will make try it... :) HAHA ohhh and also while I was making it last night I filled a little pot with water and put my apple peelings in it with sprinkles of Nutmeg, Cloves, and Cinnamon and let it boil. That made my house smell really good last night as well. Ohh how fun is this season! ( Really I ran out of festive smelling candles and I wanted my house to smell good)
Anyways my grandparents come back from Peru today so during lunch I get to go see them at the Airport! Yay!

Sierra Hallie Wu

Little Sierra was born this afternoon around 12:30 she was 5 lbs 8 oz and 17 inches long. She was very swollen for the first little bit. I only took a few pictures she was born so quickly that Kristin and Will didn't even have the camera for the delivery. Will is going to post more in the morning. She is cute in her own special way and has little blond highlights in her hair that made her mom and uncle Troy very happy... Here she is! Mom and baby are both doing great, Kristin has the easiest time with delivery.. Easy....I am jealous...
to be or not to be that is the question
So Matt and I woke up at 4 am to a phone call from Will asking us to come down. Kristin was having contractions about 2 minutes apart this morning. The second Matt and I walked in at 4:40 ish she stopped having them... well not completely they are all about 10 minutes apart now. She is still having them and has decided to go into Labor and Delivery this morning and see if they will either brake her water for her or else just induce her a day early. We'll see luckily I all ready had the day off because the banks and the county are closed today. I'll keep you all updated on if today is little Sierras day. When Matt an I were driving down I saw a shooting star so I wished that it was Sierras birthday... we shall see :)

Go Mighty Cougars!

Last night we sat in the Loge, which are the high up box seats at the BYU game. It was great! A perfect game to score those seats. Matt and I got there and we had one extra ticket, we gave one of ours to Nate.
So Matt was trying to get rid of it so he walked up to this guy and he said you need a ticket? He said no I have some I am trying to sell but no one is buying. Matt said oh and the guy said Here take mine. He had 4 tickets right in a row. So Matt then had 5 tickets so he held them up and a guy came up to him and said Hey you don't have four in a row do ya? Matt said uhhhh yeah I do. The guy said can I give ya 20$ for them? Matt said sure and here is another ticket that I have that I don't want. So yay! We got rid of our ticket!
So up in the Loge they have tons of different kinds of Food Drinks and Desserts. Allan (the manager here at Meridian) set up a tab. So at half time we got a few snacks and in the third quarter we got ice cream.
Of course I ate a little and was done Matt ate all of his. We also got free beanies up there!
It was a good game and we won 27-22. We got home late and now I am back to work. On to the WEEKEND!

This is Matt
I stand corrected, apparently. I was just informed that there is a language that is spoken by all bloggers, not understood by us outsiders. I thought it would be fun to post a "comment." I soon learned that my interpretation of comment, according to bloggers, is incrediably WRONG! My lovely wife corrected me by saying that a comment is a response to a "blog." I want to first appologize to Mickie for any imbarrassment she may have received, from my ignorance. I assure you, it was a simple mistake. Then I went to the dictionary to look up the words comment and blog. Comment- remark, observation, criticism, or note of explanation. Blog- write entries, or add material. Even though I feel like the word "Blogg," is a word created by the american people, who also created words like, "for shizzy" and "narly," I will try to use the correct lingo, on this site. Although, this blog entry, would be more of an observation of what I have learned and a remark to my wifes criticism, so I will call this one a comment.
Hey all in Blogger land!
So I feel like I am going to YACK! The Cougs play TCU tonight... I have been so graciously given EXCELLENT seats, Good enough where I am in the warm and can eat Ice cream in the third quarter! ( well Matt eats mine because unfortunately I don't like Ice Cream much... I know I know I must not be a Coombs... ) BUT those Horned Frogs handed New Mexico quite a loss on Saturday so lets hope those Cougs have improved over the last few days of practice. Should be a good game. Lets hope the offense can get in sync earlier in the game then later. Even you Utah fans should want BYU to win because that makes the next few games even bigger!
Work is going well, things are slowing a bit in the industry because of the sub prime market falling and so forth but Meridian is a really good company. They don't have any debt so all we have to make sure is that we make payroll and a little bit more and we should be okay. A lot of other title company's have been laying people off like crazy, Meridian has said they will try their very hardest not to let anyone go while the market is like this. Sharon hasn't slowed down a whole bunch because we work so closely with Garbett Homes, they built Matt and I's house.
Matt has finished all his tests for this week and thinks he did fairly well on all of them. Lets keep our fingers crossed. Matt and I have been really looking at BYU's MBA program where Matt so desperately wants to go. We found the average GPA is about a 3.5 ish. Matt can do that for sure it is just all the other things we worry about. We have a while before he applys to the program but it is always good to be on top of it.... Enough of my ramblings...

Story Time
So I have A co-worker named Jared. He has a son named Jordan who is 3. One night Jared was putting Jordan to bed and he read him a Dr Suess book. As we all know Dr. Suess does a lot of rhyming. About 5 minutes later Jordan came into Jared's bedroom he said "Dad I cant get into bed!"
Jared said "Why?"
He said "I have too many animals in by bed. "
Jared knowing he has an imaginary elephant friend named Sox, walked into Jordan's room and said looking at the bed "Sox you have to get out of bed Jordan needs to sleep."
Then Jordan said "There are more animals in there!"
Jared said "who else?"
Jordan said "There are three monkeys!"
He said "okay what are your monkeys names?"
"... Saggy, Faggy and Maggy."
Chuckling a little Jared said okay "All monkeys out of the bed!"
Then Jordan said "Well Dad there are two more ducks in there, but not like the duck that we have outside." ( they own a duck and a couple chickens)
Jared said "What are the ducks names?"
Jordan promptly responded with " Ducky and Fu#ky"
Jared had had a hard day and at that point he was just laughing...
So he said "All right Ducky and Fu%ky get out of the bed."
Jordan then hopped into bed and Jared walked out of the room into his room.
He turned to his wife Misty and said "Misty have you met Jordan's New imaginary friends?"
She said "yes" and he said "do you know their names?"
and she said "uh huh...and I have NO idea what to do about it..." They both are still stumped on what to do with their sons imaginary friend.
Hilarious! What do you do with that! Your 3 year old names his imaginary duck that? I guess its good that he is rhyming right? HAHAHA I cant wait to be a parent...

Basketball & Football
Matt and I went to the BYU Men's Basketball home opener game against Laval (some Canadian team) on Friday night. It was pretty fun we left with 5 minutes left int he game score was 70 something to 45. Those poor Canadians weren't playing to well. It must have been a french Canadian team too cause all their names your Francois i don't even know how to spell that. If they weren't that is sounded really close to that. BYU has a lot of work to do. They looked really sloppy. Luckily with Basketball they have a ton of games to play to improve. Hopefully this year is better then last years March Madness struggle.

Saturday Matt Will Jason and I went down to the field by Will and Kristin's house to throw some discs around. Matt and Will are both trying to work on some new driving techniques. Matt has a 360 involved in his, i didn't think it was very accurate...
After that we went over to the football game. Travis babysat Jason. The weather was GORGEOUS for a football game.
All of us even got some sun! Kristin got sunburned, how funny. BYU won of course. They played CSU who has only won 1 of the last (well now) 16 games. I feel bad for teams like that. Their wide outs couldn't have been taller that 5'7" and weighed more than 160. Little guys, slippery at some points but mostly just small compared to our smaller then average corners who are only about 5'11".
ANYWAYS enough football talk. The game was fun. We came home and the guys went frolfing while the weather was great and Kristin and I went to go Sierra some clothes. I would say Kristin has dropped the ball on this "girl " baby thing. Poor Sierra doesn't have any clothes! We bought her a Sunday dress and a cute little shirt. Other then that she has onesys. That is okay for the first couple months anyways.

Suzanne and Nathaniel went though and Suzanne said that she got some pictures so hopefully I can get one of her in her blessing gown. She is almost 2 months old and I cant even believe it! Cant wait to meet her at Thanksgiving! Our Sunday consisted of Church and me helping Matt with some flashcards for his econ. class. How exciting! Not! Well hope all are feeling well, you did get an extra hour of sleep!
Ohh an here is a picture of my arm. I don't bruise very easily at all and this is 4 days later. It is still black, green, and blue. I should have taken a picture a day later but it was really nasty and swollen then. Now you all have proof that is did fall down the stairs.

Here they are!~

So here are the pictures I didn't take many yesterday. The first one is of Nathias who is my co~worker and Jason Ivins who is one of the attorneys who we work with alot. Jason is a Cougar fan but he thought he would be funny and be a Utes Fan. I thought it was pretty clever, he has a mullet wig on and fake tat sleeves on. HAHA No offense to you Ute fans I just thought it was great. Nate didn't care either.
Next is of Tori and I on sports day.
The last is of Suzanne and I aren't we the biggest geeks? I think you can see my tonsils in that picture. haha... too much chocolate for me. Matt and Nate (Suzanne's boy friend) didn't dress up! Matt never does, and Nate works construction so dressing up would have been hard. Anyways we watched casino Royale last night. I like that movie, oh and I fell down the stairs that hurt pretty bad. I have a nice big ole bruise on my arm, my back, and my bum... well not sure about my back and my bum (they haven't surfaced yet). Yeah so after that I really didn't feel like going anywhere last night. Hope everyone had a safe Halloween! Now lets see everyone else's pictures!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Suzanne and I are Super fans for BYU. We have Y's painted on our faces blue chunks on hair and have our FULLY INVESTED T Shirts on. I also have my BYU flip Flops on. Go Cougs! Unfortunately there are more Utah Fans (Yes Trish no need for the comment) then their are BYU fans. But that is Okay. I will live. I'll post pictures tomorrow of us. Matt didn't dress up as usual he just like Halloween for the treats.

Pumpkins

This weekend was carving pumpkins time! Will, Kristin, Suzanne, Nate, Matt (kind of) and myself all carved pumpkins. It was great!
Ohh wait to back up... Kristin took Will out for night on Friday and dropped Jason off at my work for Matt and I to babysit. He is a good little boy except for when he wakes up at 6 a.m. Matt and I left him in his crib until it was 7 a.m. at that point neither of us could sleep any longer so what is the point. Needless to say Jason was a crabby boy until his nap at 2. We went Frisbee golfing in the morning on Saturday, Matt and Will caught the tail end of the "BYU frisbee golf club" and a few of those guys played with Will and Matt. It took forever, it didn't bother me BUT the second throws on each hole were getting annoying.Later that day we all carved our pumpkins. Here are the pictures Kristin took.
Matt doesn't have much interest in carving so
I cut it open and gutted it and this is what he did...
This is what Matt was doing while all of us were carving watching football.
Here is Suzanne's and her usual silly face pumpkin.
Some of you may not know the song but there is a song they play on the radio around this time called "Pumpkin Head Harvey" Its a great little kid song that is where I got the inspiration of carving my dad (Harvey) on my pumpkin this year.

Dang that is one good lookin Pumpkin Head Harvey!
After carving pumpkins we went to see "Stardust" again I really like that movie. Probably one I'll actually buy! Sunday we got home and I had a call from my teacher for my girls and she couldn't teach! Yikes so I had an hour to put together a lesson. It was so easy though it was on personal health. Eating right and exercise. What a cinch! So that was no problem. Anyways that's all that happened.... Hope everyone is ready for Halloween! Suzanne and I are going to be the coolest! (really not but we will be pretty cool)

He DID IT
"I told him he could do it He did it He did it" <-- to the tune of Pro. Higgins in "My Fair Lady"
Matt went to his Math class last night and ACTUALLY understood what was being taught! He has been studying like mad to try and get up to speed with his class and yesterday he completely understood what the teacher was doing. On Tuesdays and Thursdays is when he has Math and about 45 minutes after Math he has Econ. Well a really smart kid from the Math class caught up to Matt about a week ago in between classes and said "Hey I know we have 45 minutes in between Math and Econ. if you need help studying for Math, I can help you" So Matt has been working with that kid and going over the old stuff over and over. Well Thanks all your prayers are working! He actually got it! Now it's time to get up to snuff on all the other classes. Which shouldn't be too hard I'll have to help him make flash cards this weekend.
More adventures at work, today is moving day yet again. Back downstairs we go! I'll have to take a picture once I am down there, to show you all what my desk looks like and such. Also, I got this e~mail last Monday and it said "Top Users List" and it my stats on the page with 12,406 hits for a week and it showed my bandwidth or however you spell it. So I was freaking out thinking I was on the Internet way too much at work I got on the top ten list for real this time yikes! So I was trying hard not to look things up as often and such until I finally got the guts to ask our IT guy about the e~mail. I showed it to him and he start laughing. He told me I was a bottom dweller on the Internet and 12,406 is what most have in one day not one week. So I felt much better about my blog reading and now fell okay about my "blogging addiction"
Tonight is.... "Clean up, Clean up, everybody everywhere! Clean up, Clean up, now is the time to do your share." Laundry, Vacuuming, Scrubbing Floors, Walls and Doors. I like cleaning day especially when Matt is home because he helps :)
Tomorrow is pumpkin carving day! I am so excited to surprise you all with what I will carve! Ohh and for those of you who have all ready carved? I found out if you put Vaseline on where you carved on the pumpkin it wont shrivel as fast so they will be looking okay for Halloween. Weird sounding I know but they said to be liberal don't go stingy on the stuff.
Will and Art have fun frolfing today, Matt is jealous, Will you will need to go tomorrow too :) I am positive you are okay with this.

Once on this Island

Another edition of the Hale Center Theatre. Suzanne's work had tickets and we (Nate Suzanne Matt and I) we're able to go! It was great we got VIP tickets, really not any different then other tickets we've had previously, but the VIP part was that we got to complementary treats at intermission! Yummm! I love it!

The play was okay nothing totally awesome like the others, it was a musical that is loosely based on the Little Mermaid if you haven't seen it. Matt was pretty bored during the first half but the second half redeemed itself. Interesting it seems like every play we see there the second half makes up for the boring first half. Anyways Love going to plays they are ALWAYS a treat.

Okay all you ladies out there
It is really easy you just take a little bit of hair. NOT ALOT that is where most girls mess it up take about a 1 inch by 1/2 inch strip of hair (doesn't have to be exact) then instead of curling like normal just wrap the hair around this curling iron yourself and hold the end. I don't even use hairspray when I do it and it stays in all day, Make sure your pieces stay together after you unravel it. You might want to spritz on a little bit of hair spray right after the curling. DON'T SPRAY ALL AT THE END. The curls will all stick together and it looks silly when ALL your hair is flying in the wind (because of the hairspray) rather then pieces. All right if that wasn't good enough instruction I can show you all how later, and I am sure to some of you its no revelation you just haven't done it in a while.
Yesterday was a "D.I. Ball" meaning you go find the most 60 70 or 80 outfit and go to a dance. We had about 50 youth there last night to learn The Macarena (Yeah we did the whole song... it never ends) The electric slide, the Boot Scoot and Bogey, and Thriller. It was pretty fun. I wore one of my co-workers prom type dress that she made and wore when she was 15 I think she said it was in the 70's sometime. It was pretty itchy that's for sure. But it was fun to see the girls all wearing ohh wait pretty much what they have right now... Weird how leggings are coming back I hate those things. Anyways we had a fun time but by 8:15 I ready to go home and stop listening to ridiculously loud music. I don't know how I did it back in the day! Listen to loud music all the time. I think the Rogue Valley Family Fun Center ruined me.... So loud all the time!
Matt is having a rougher semester then he expected I think, he works really really hard but since all his teachers are foreign he has a hard time understanding them in class. Also a lot of the tests are on the lectures they give, ahh curse the U and your foreign teachers. Anyways Pray for Matt that he can get good grades in these last few weeks he is definitely nervous that's for sure!
Whelp that's all folks.....

Hello Hello
Hi all in blogging land its me again for another edition of the Spence Family Post. I thought I would start by giving a shout out to my co-worker Jared Nicol who is training to be a volunteer EMT to help out with the red cross when the terrorists attack Salt Lake City. (At least that was he said) I had to pretend I was a lady having a heart attack yesterday while I was eating my lunch so he could practice. Thanks to him I safely made it to the hospital and was given the proper amount of medication and oxygen. Phew! I could have died while eating my green beans and Honey Dijon chicken!
OHH and P.S. this is Jim one of the owners of Meridian he is a lawyer and in all the years working for Meridian this is claimed to be the first time he has ever worn shorts to work. Just thought I would share :)
Second I would like to mention another co-worker of mine Whitney. She was all sorts of perplexed on how to curl her hair so it would stay curled. She saw my curls one day and asked me how to do it.
I showed her and the next day she showed up to work with loverly curls that stayed in all day. Just call me,... Hairdini!
I showed her and the next day she showed up to work with loverly curls that stayed in all day. Just call me,... Hairdini! Third I made Pizza for dinner last night with Cinnamon rolls and cheese rolls. It wasn't too shabby. All I did was make those Rhodes freezer rolls and took them out about 3 minutes before they were done put a tiny bit of butter on them then sprinkled cheese on one half then Cinnamon sugar on the other half. Look at me I am nesting!
Fourth I got to watch Pride and Prejudice last night while I cooked and did laundry... ahhh I love that movie it's so wonderful!
Lastly, I have a big meeting today with all the owners of our company and all the owners of Garbett Homes. The builder that built the house Matt and I bought. I have been working with these people for 2 years now and haven't meet most of the people I talk to on the phone everyday. This should be interesting, wish me luck!

Its that weekend time again!
We had a great weekend! Although I cant really remember what we did on Friday night. I think we just hung out. Kristin Suzanne and I went to the store to go buy apples to make Carmel Apples and I think that's about it. We probably played games and watched movies as usual.
Saturday was a bad weather day. We went over to Maceys to pick up our Pumpkins,
what a selection! Also they all looked like good pumpkins so they were easy to pick. PLUS at 9 cents a pound who can beat that price! This was the score at the beginning of the football game an interception and touchdown within seconds of the game starting.
This is my cousin Caleb he is on the ground crew, so we gave him a twin sandwich!
As you can see in the progression of pictures,
the weather got really bad at the football game from the beginning, to there in the 4Th quarter of the football game. Kristin and Will left just before the BLIZZARD, when I say blizzard I mean blizzard too look how big those snowflakes are!
But of course the Cougars won :) and later that night we all watched Transformers and ate our HARD AS ROCK Carmel apples. I love Transformers! Kristin and I discovered that we melted the Carmel too long so it got really hard on the outside of the apple.
At one point Matt was biting into his apple that had Carmel, white chocolate, and Cinnamon sugar on the outside, after he bit it we heard a crack and Matt say "Is my tooth still there?" We all were laughing so hard because we were all having a really hard time biting the Apples. Ohh and Travis was over pretty much all weekend, anyways he said they were fine. Kristin and I didn't believe him.
Sunday we had regional conference and we were one of the 14 out 107 stakes invited to the conference center to listen to Elder Boyd K Packer and President Gordon B Hinckley speak! They were wonderful! We were only 7 rows away and I cant tell you how amazingly close you feel to the spirit of the lord when you listen to these awesome men speak. I wish I could do that every Sunday!

Kristin and I didn't believe him.Sunday we had regional conference and we were one of the 14 out 107 stakes invited to the conference center to listen to Elder Boyd K Packer and President Gordon B Hinckley speak! They were wonderful! We were only 7 rows away and I cant tell you how amazingly close you feel to the spirit of the lord when you listen to these awesome men speak. I wish I could do that every Sunday!
Bonus Video! Matt was putting on his really warm football socks. Jason had just gotten out of the bath tub and was curious why Matt was pulling his socks up to his thighs so we thought Jason Might want to try them on. :)
