7 Months

Maylee is now 7 months old!

With out the card...
I can't get a good one with that card... she just has to EAT it!

Stats:

Weight: 13 lbs 8 ounces 2nd percentile
Length: 25 3/4 inches 3rd Percentile
Head Circumference: 15 3/4 inches (not big enough to make the charts)

BUT the weight for length chart shows that she is right on track for proportion. So basically she is proportionally TEENY! I think she is the size of an average 4 month old.

She fits 3-6 month clothes still wonderfully and she loves to eat! Her hair is growing, but it is so light, thin and fuzzy that I can't do much with it. Plus, it is only growing longer on the crown of her head. I hope it starts to grow in more even soon, but to be honest i'll be surprised if I can get her hair in a pony tail sooner than her being two years old. We have started mixing rice cereal into her formula in a effort to help with the constant spit up. It seems to be helping a bit. She likes to eat what we are eating in little bits and soon I will start introducing cereal puffs to her, we'll see how that goes.

She is a happy little lady (except when she is cutting teeth) and is so close to crawling. She just rolls and scoots where she wants to go for now. Which is already enough to bother her older brother. She goes after him and it is really funny. She will try to crawl right up on his lap sometimes :) I think she loves him as much as he loves her.

Utah

Thursday night the kids and I drove down to my parents house.

Friday we all drove out to Utah

Saturday we ran a 5k in the bitter cold morning air with a few from my family.
Uhh dont ask me what Cam is doing lifting up his shirt... it was so cold and look what Colton chose to run in!
We all survived! Grandpa went home since it was SO cold. Bob and JD on the end there ran the kids fun run. JD LOVED it. (Thanks for the pictures Holly!)

Then we got home changed and quickly ran a few errands and set out for the game. Kristin and Will were gracious enough to watch Maylee and Ty for me while I went to the game.

I can't believe I didn't bring my camera to the game. Maddy (my younger brother Colton's Girlfriend) and I just chatted while we watched the game... it wasn't much of a game BYU vs. ISU score was something like 49-3. It was really fun to go to a game at Lavell Edwards Stadium though.

Afterwards we went out to Wallaby's for dinner and then took a trip to Kangaroo Zoo to wipe out the kids. That is when I finally busted out the camera.
Mom chasing Ty
Everyone in the jumpy house, Ty's favorite... he wouldn't do anything else but that.
May loved the squishy floor and tried out her crawling, she didn't go far.
Miss Maylee
Ty trying to recruit others to jump with him.
Maddy and Sierra sat in that chair for a LONG time.
Kristin and Elena
Sweaty Baylee and Jason
Yay! Laycee finally joined Ty in the Jumpy house!
Grandma did too, if they could pull her up the slide.
Yep, still there. Sierra was pretending it was a Space Ship and Maddy was playing along.
H feeding his newest family addition Dean.
Grandpa and Maylee hanging out.
Ty taking a water break.

Sunday we attended church with the Wu's, Kristin taught her first lesson to her 14-15 year old girls and did wonderfully.

We headed out to Soup and Scones at Grandma and Grandpa Coombs house and saw more family. Ty loved playing with his cousins and my cousins kids. :)

Then to top the night off we did a Glow Stick Dance Party. Colton brought out his camera and got some great shots.

We got creative with our glowstick pictures and came up with this.
Matt loved it :) I think...
A little rainbow action.
Mostly it looked like this though.
Even Maylee got in on the action.
Look a weird alien clown baby!

Monday we drove back to my parents house and Tuesday morning the kids and I drove back here to Washington. It was a LOT of driving in a short amount of time but it was so worth it to see all my family. We were all rediculously spoiled, it felt like Chirstmas with all the time that we spent with family and the hand-me-downs we picked up. I love them so much! I just wish Matt was able to make the trip with us! Next time...Next Time...

A series of unfortunate events

Before I post about our OUTSTANDING weekend I need to write about what happened on Thursday because some of you may be wondering.

I will post Maylee's cute 7 month pictures soon as well.

We went to the Dr. on Thursday morning. At Maylee's 9 am appointment we got in the room. I can't emphasize enough how much TY doesn't like people he doesn't know touching Maylee. It's one thing to just say "Hi" and admire but as for as holding for long time or giving shots etc he is one BEAR that DOES NOT LIKE YOU. So in the room Ty is irritated as I am talking with the Dr. about Maylee's constant spit up. (Hello she is on SOY shouldn't that help?) Ty is being crazy running around and he slips and falls, HARD and hits the back of his head. Dr. Bell turns to pick him up he doesn't want her so he screams even louder. I turn really quickly to pick him up and in the 10 seconds I turn my back Miss May who was laying on the Dr. bed thing that is about 4 feet up decides to roll OFF the TABLE! Dr. Bell turned just in time to see her flop, she jumped for her but she wasn't close enough to catch her and May landed on her head on tile in the Dr's office.

YIKES! My Dr. picked up a screaming Maylee while I am holding a screaming Ty. My Dr. said if there is one place to have your kid fall a great height it is to have it be at the Dr.'s IN FRONT of the Dr. Both of us were apologizing to one another, it was an honest mistake on both our parts for paying attention to the kid screaming the loudest. Right afterwards the nurse came in with May's shots. She was hurried and shot up FOUR TIMES since we are behind on vaccinations, I have to go back in another month for more. Then we (on Dr.'s orders) had to go down to the XRAY lab to take some pictures of Maylee's head to make sure no damage was done.

What should have been a quick 30 minute visit turned into two hours. Maylee screamed about 3/4 of that visit and Ty was a monster 100% of the time.

By the way my kids were acting and how close I was to just screaming at them both and reacting very poorly I am surprised Child Protective Services weren't there after the XRAY'S to take my children from me. It was a REALLY REALLY bad trip to the Dr.

Good news is, no damage was done to May. Doc told me to keep the Tylenol and or Ibuprofen flowing with Maylee for the next 24 hours not only because of her fall (can you say CRAZY BAD HEADACHE?) but her shots too. Then the next day as we were driving to Utah I find BOTH MAYLEE'S BOTTOM TEETH COMING IN. Poor girl, she had one ROUGH 24 hours with LOTS OF PAIN.

Note to self next Dr's appointment for May, Ty goes to a friends house.

P.S. TMI ALERT! TMI ALERT!!! Don't read if you are a MAN!!!!
In other news, do you remember me talking about fasting for something and getting an answer a few weeks back? It was in connection to some SERIOUS pain I was having in my girl parts area. It felt like my right ovary and uterus wanted to be the size of a pea. After a series of testing for infections, STD's (I laughed at the Dr. about that one) and a transvaginal pelvic ultrasound (in my case that was super painful too, if I were healthy it wouldn't have hurt at all) they found out I had a Hemoraggic Ovarian Cyst (read the link for more gory details on that) that BURST, and I still have more cysts on my left ovary. Yeah wouldn't wish that on anyone it hurt real bad when it burst that I cried for a little bit about it. Why do things that cause severe pain always seem to happen on a weekend at night so your only option is the emergency room? Bleck. I have a follow up appointment in 4 weeks there we'll talk about what cysts remain and hopefully everything is still A-okay with my left ovary. Basically it was pain, loads of pain.

May and I have had a rough go the last week, we are both in good spirits and health now though, thank goodness!

Sauvie Island Pumpkin Patch

One of my friends Katie asked if Ty, May and I wanted to join her and little Rose to the Pumpkin Patch on Sauvie Island yesterday. We gladly accepted the invitation! I mean come on, it's on an ISLAND! That was pretty cool... anyway we went into the barn and looked at the animals first.
It was a Llama.
A Bunny! It was a cute one too.
Then Ty called it a Rabbit! Both names...
Ty and Rose were checking out the chickens.

Then we climbed on the big hay bail tower. There was a tunnel underneath it which I didn't think Ty would like but he crawled right in after a little while and loved it. I who am NOT a fan of tunnels (claustrophobia big time here) had to go in after a little guy who was trapped by another little guy. Poor kid was screaming and crying on the top of his lungs and the other little kid who was about the same age just kept holding on. I think both were scared and to be honest neither of the moms could fit in... so I did, and got the sad little guy out.
Ty needed help getting from level to level.

We walked over to the pumpkin patch and picked out pumpkins. Poor Katie is 33 weeks along, that wasn't a SUPER pleasant walk. Ty and Rose picked out good small pumpkins when we got there. They were only a buck each!

Ty wasn't a fan of the dirt so I cleaned it his pumpkin for him.
Maylee hung out in the stroller the whole time.
Don't ask me what my hair is doing, but May looks cute so I had to post it :)

We caught a ride back on the Hay wagon, which as you can tell by Ty's face was the HIGHLIGHT of the trip, and probably Katie's too since it could give her a little rest. Rose doesn't seem half as excited :)

I was worried Ty would be a fuddy duddy the rest of the time since we had to get off, it took a teeny bit of coaxing but he got off in good spirits.
Maylee, getting a little snack in while we did a little shopping.

We hit up the Pumpkin Patch market and I found out how Brussell Sprouts grow because Katie bought a big bunch of them, pretty weird.
Then we went and saw the tractors which Ty enjoyed too.

Originally Ty didn't want this picture taken so it was just Me and May... then he decided he wanted his picture taken too so there it is. (P.S. it really is a cute little perfect pumpkin! Just like the picture says!)

It was a fun little trip and i'll have to keep it in mind if we want to go back for the Corn Maze!

Thanks for the invite Katie! It was really fun and nice to venture out :)

TMT: the kids were great!

Last week we were figuring out our weekend plans. We realized just how long we would be gone on Saturday for the BYU  Oregon State game (9am to 9pm). The game was a 2 hour drive away but with Tailgating, the game and dinner afterwards it made it a good chunk of time! Matt and I decided that it was too long to leave the kids home with a babysitter and that they should come along. Thankfully my parents were on board with it too. We were really quite nervous about it. We took our friend Ryan along with us to the game too.

We first went to the tailgate party where Ty met Cosmo Cougar. He wasn't a HUGE fan but at least took a picture with him.
Ty, not so sure haha... he kept calling him a Lion at the game, but when he got home and looked at this picture he said Cougar.

Then we walked all the way from the stake center church to the stadium, which was probably just over a mile. It wasn't too bad for us grown ups but Ty insisted on running the whole way! His poor tired little legs! His nap time was right during the game. Matt and I were really nervous about this trip that the kids would be crazy. Ty was WONDERFUL! Wiggly of course, and there was that bit there where he went overboard with kisses for Grandma... but otherwise when he started chanting "Defense! Defense!" it made my heart swell. I had Maylee strapped to my front the entire game and I don't think she made a single peep and even slept for a little bit there, until we scored a touchdown.
It was also a Tender Mercy that our friends ticket was supposed to be RIGHT next to us, yeah he was a section over and a ton of rows up! He was going to sit with us until being kicked out. Luckily the people in front of us had two open seats so he sat there so he could sit by us! It was great and none of us had to squish!
Riley Nelson (13) started as QB again, he played pretty darn well.

Also, we ended up sitting right next to a family from my parents ward who know my kids and didn't mind the occasional flailing arm from Ty.
Grandma brought Thomas the Train stickers to divert Ty. He LOVED them.

BYU won by the way, it was a great game and we REALLY enjoyed it. The weather was perfect, the company was better than perfect and everything worked out pretty darn well.
Yes we did score a touchdown right after this picture was taken.

It was a LONG day but a good day and we are so thankful that the kids did so well! Thank you so much Dad and Mom for treating us, we really loved it!

To My Favorite Little Man

Dear Ty,

I thought I should write you a note because time seems to be passing sooner then I would like. You are growing way too fast. I never understood why parents said that, but now I completely understand. When you are a Dad I think you'll understand too.

You are with out a doubt the cutest little Ty I could have ever imagined. You flash looks at me that are so reminiscent of your Dad that I can't help but think even though you portray more of my coloring and general features right now, that you 'll end up looking more like your Daddy when you are older. I would love for that to be the case since to me, your Dad is hands down the best looking guy on this earth. You my little love are of course are a VERY close second.

Everyday you shock me with a new word or trait you have learned. Lately you have been so generous with Maylee. You even let her hold your train today. Afterwards you looked at me and said "Nice?". I honestly didn't know you knew how to say that word let alone what it truly meant. I confirmed that was nice and I hope you continue to be nice the rest of your life. Being nice is exactly what you did, giving something to someone that you so dearly love yourself, in hopes that they might get a bit of joy out of it too.

You have such a contagious smile and laugh. You are always tickling me, Maylee, Daddy and most comically yourself and letting out a big belly laugh because of it. This morning after you woke up at 4 am, I came in your room and held you until you fell back asleep. I went back into my bed and laid there wishing to freeze the previous 10 minutes in my mind when all of the sudden I heard you burst out into laughter. I got out of bed again to check on you and you were asleep, laughing in your sleep. It was music to my ears and it's moments like that I wish I could rewind.

You seem to be very perceptive discerning when people are sad. You point it out whenever you think someone is sad and most often give that person a pat and say "Okay?". Whenever May is crying you run to her and try to cheer her up. You do something silly, give her a pacifier, hug her, kiss her or do all four at once. No one can get Maylee to laugh as freely as you do. I hope that stays around forever, everyone needs someone to cheer them up when they are sad. You always follow up with "Better?" after their demeanor seems to have changed.

You have become very affectionate lately. I am not sure why that is but I am enjoying it. It's interesting to note since you weren't a really a cuddly baby. You always give me, Maylee and Daddy wonderful "bear hugs" and I hope it never stops either. You love to give kisses, even when your mouth is covered in Go-Gurt slobber. I guess I don't mind them either since at least they smell (and sometimes taste!) of some type of berry.

We went to Costco today and I was smiling the entire time because of what a good boy you were being. You were following my directions wonderfully and making pretty much the entire population in the store fall in much of love with you as I am. You would run ahead yelling, "Come on Mom!" then when you would fall a little behind you would yell "I'm Coming Mom!" in your cute little two year old Ty voice. Stop and Go is all you do, you have one speed and that is run. I think you run pretty fast for a little guy your size and in your little chucks I can always hear those quick running feet coming up on me even though you are trying to be sneaky. You flash smiles instead of grumpy faces to friendly strangers and I bet it melts their heart as quickly as it does for me and your Daddy.

You are such a good example to your younger Sister. You always make sure she is taken care of and even give me suggestions through out the day of how I can help her. For example if you think it's cold, you go to Maylee pat her arm and say "Cold?" then give her your blanket. You ask me to give her a bottle every morning before asking anything for you and you always tell me when she has taken her hair bow out. The latter being the one that makes me smile the most. Often times you go get another one and try to put it on her yourself. You make sure she isn't getting into anything she isn't supposed to and please oh PLEASE stay close to her and be her personal guide to keep her out of trouble through those trying teenage years. You are still protective of her and I believe you feel she is someone very special to you. I am so pleased with the special bond you have already begun to develop with her.

You have been a happier boy as we've started to understand you, it has eliminated more and more frustration on both ends. I love to hear how you see the world and when you point out things or sounds that I don't even seem to notice anymore.

You love church and now every time we get in the car you ask to go to church. You have learned the difference between a castle and a temple and are quick to point out the trumpet on the spires of the temple. Please continue to love church the rest of your life, it will bring you happiness and joy that nothing else in this world comes close to offering.

I love you Ty, with all my heart. I tell you to stop growing up all the time. I don't meant it, but a part of me does. I am truly enjoying being your mom and I think everyday my love for you doubles and some days like today, it builds ten fold.

Keep it up son, you are a joy and one of the true loves of my life.

XOXO,
Mom
