Kids say the darndest things...

I know I posted these on Facebook, but I thought I would post here too for posterity's sake.

When I got back from a long run the other night (it was 3 miles yeah that was long for me considering I had a baby just less than 8 weeks ago) Ty turned and said "Momma, how was your run?" I said "It was hard!" he said, "But Momma your tummy isn't squishy any more!"

Yesterday while Ty was eating his PB&J for lunch he randomly says "Momma, member when Salty went into the Green House and the water came and MELTED MELTED MELTED." It took me a minute and the question of "Who is Salty?" he said "Salty? Then Santa..." He didn't have to finish his sentence before I corrected him. "Ohh you mean Frosty!" "Oh yeah I too-got (thats how he says forgot) it's FROSTY not SALTY!"

Then tonight while Matt was working on letters with Ty Matt wrote a Q and asked Ty what it was. Ty's triumphant response? "It's an O line!" I think the kid hears too much football talk around here.

As far as the lady goes were starting to really understand quite a few more things she says and have started waiting for her to say things before we give them to her. She can say Water bottle, hair bow, lets go, up, help, Mom, Dad, Emma and of course NNNNOOOO! Haven't heard Ty quite yet... T's are hard I think. No please either. We're working on that one constantly. BUT she is getting somewhere so it's nice to actually understand a few things.

Thanksgiving #2

Friday morning the lady folk set out to get the DEALZZZ... well we didn't get many of the DEALZZ that we were looking to get. Probably because we left at about 7:30 am. Every store we went to was ransacked pretty much. But you can bet we ran around saying yelling stuff like "HURRY WE GOTTA GET THE DEALZZZZ!" while in the parking lot.

We totally lucked out at Bi-Mart. That place is the best. I always forget about Bi-Mart but every time I go the prices are awesome and the Customer Service is even better. We also decided that Men don't really get up early so if you're going to a "Man" store then put that one last, your deal will still be there. I got a 25 round Banana clip for Matt's new .22 for 10 bones! It was a steal! There was all the Almond Roca (plus any variation) and Martinelli's that one could carry. I almost went back for another Banana Clip when the new waders that Preston got didn't fit so he went back a different size, but I didn't.. When we got back home my Dad and Mom left promptly to Lowe's and still snagged the DEALZZ they wanted there too.

ANYWAY we pretty much shopped and vegged out all day. Matt had to work, that was why my parents were coming to our place this year then they recruited more people to come. We just wish the H. Bragg's and C. Braggs could have come too!

Friday night we went to Qdoba for dinner... tasty as usual. I can't pass up that 3 Cheese sauce they sport. MAN is it good! Nacho's made in heaven! I read the kiddies the book The Polar Express BECAUSE we went to OMSI again and watched it like we did last year. We're headed to Medford for Christmas this year normally we would see it Christmas Eve but since we couldn't we squeezed it in the day after Thanksgiving.

The movie was good, we should have sat up a little higher, next year we'll remember. It made Will sick. I did however have the unusual pleasure of little Elena bug sitting on my lap for the first half of the movie. I don't know why she picked me (she's a picky little lady with people she likes) but I enjoyed being part of her inner circle while it lasted :)

After the movie we went to Menchie's Frozen Yogurt.

It's a family favorite. Ty knows just what to do and what toppings he likes.

Matt is giving the thumbs up to me, he knows I'm the best wife he's ever had. HAHA

We let May have at it by herself. As you can see her coat and hair were recipients as well to the goodness of her Dairy Free Kiwi Strawberry Sorbet. There are little test taster cups to help one choose a flavor, my mom gave May a nice cupful of Cheesecake flavor I believe... with dairy. For breakfast my Dad mistakenly gave May regular yogurt instead of her Lactose free yogurt. Lets just say the girl was having a few issues that night, but didn't complain too much about it surprisingly.

I am SURE this is just what Suzanne was going for when I took this picture. Since when is PRESTON the one with the normal smiling face... those two are meant for one another. 

The next morning the Readings checked out of the Spence hotel, we wish they could have stayed longer but Preston had to get back to work. 

We headed out to Screen Door for breakfast, but due to a few set backs we ended up too far back in the line and ended up in the hour and a half wait line. LAME! SO we decided to find another breakfast joint. A group behind us heard us discussing our options and suggested another place, Irving St. Kitchen. Matt asked if it was a kid friendly joint and what the wait was like. They said that they opened soon and took reservations and that kids were good to go there. They had reservations there themselves then decided last minute to switch to Screen Door.

Like Matt said when we got there, "Clearly those people do not have children"

It was a trendy over priced, ridiculous PORTLAND style restaurant. You know, the free range organic chicken with only natural organic ingredients stuff. I'm totally okay with all that but I don't want to pay 15 bucks for half of a nasty waffle and half of a dry piece of chicken with some sort of syrup that's the consistency of butter. (That was my moms meal). We were all so hungry and when they brought out all the food it was everything we could do to keep up decorum and not die of laughter. Terrible. 

We headed over to the Portland Children's Museum afterwards. Getting there was another adventure since Portland streets don't make sense at all. I seriously laughed so hard at Matt flipping U's and turning the wrong way on one way streets. All with the Wu's following us. HAHA The Museum was a big hit however.

Pottery and clay! The kids spent a lot of time here, which was perfect because I needed to feed Emma. 

She was in the front carrier the whole time... poor girl scratched her face. 

Maylee's trains fell of the track and was right in the middle of saying "Uh OH!" when I snapped the picture.

Elena and Maylee worked well together while Jason and Ty loaded the trucks up. 

Last up was the water station. Maylee was too short to reach anything poor girl. Everyone else had a great time playing with the various water stations. 

We headed home and then just hung out the rest of the day, we watched movies, I touched up Kristins hair (her ends are pink and purple, crazy huh? It looks cute on her I think) 

The Wu's packed up and left first thing Sunday morning, my parents came to church with us and then left shortly after. 

It was a great time we loved having everyone. 

Now I have to prepare for another busy weekend with more family. We are blessing Emma at church this Sunday and some of Matt's family is headed into town for it. We're excited to see them! 

Thanksgiving #1

We had my parents, the Wu clan and the Readings all join us for Thanksgiving this year. We were so happy to have family around for this holiday!

Thanksgiving Morning we couldn't find a good football game to join. Kind of sad, first time in forever we havent played football that morning. Instead the guys took advantage of the good weather and went Disc Golfing. 

The kids watched Grandma's Ipad while well all chipped in and made dinner. It was more like Lunch since we usually eat at about 1:30 or so.

I asked Matt to get a picture of me, I actually got a strike that time. I showed the picture to Matt, he said he didn't claim to be a good photographer. 

If we hold still he can take a better picture. 

Maylee and Elena became good buddies this trip. They even held hands walking around. It was SO cute I was bummed to not get a better picture of the two. 

For the record Matt beat everyone... I think he got a 176. It's the best score I can ever remember him getting, Preston came in a close second... I came in... oh, last I think. Ty even beat me!
