Busy at Work!
Sorry no good blog today it's the end of the month and in the Title business that translates as VERY BUSY TIME. Matt and I have a softball game tonight so we'll see how it goes. Our best girl wont be there tonight. YIKES! I'll have to tell about the crazy that lives across the street sometime later when I have more time. It was great to have that many lights and sirens at 11 o'clock last night! : )

Tim, Faith and Haircuts
OKAY I gotta say if your going to call into a radio station to win tickets and it's a contest you better know your stuff. I am now 7 for 7 and have yet to get through to win. I have to win now just to prove how good I am. I wrote Johnson & Johnson, the radio DJ's that hosed me over, a nice little e~mail yesterday about how unfair it was to JIP me of tickets and I'll do anything for another shot (it really was nice promise). I haven't heard back and I doubt I will. BUT I still try and call every time. I have a lot of people in the office calling for me as well. So we'll see I have all week and I HAVE to win. HAHA Anyways last night Kristin and I got our hair done at our Aunt Sharon's house by my friend Jessica. She's a really good stylist. Kristin really cut her hair and it looks awesome I am sure she will post pictures of it. Other then that Matt Will and my cousin Travis went Disc golfing yesterday and Travis won! I think it may have been his first time. Beginners luck I guess (oh and his par was 4 and Matt and Will play a par 3) Still pretty impressive. I brushed up on my Guitar Hero skills with my cousin Kenzie while I waited to get my hair done. I love that game why is it so addicting? So no pictures again... I called a place and they can fix it for about 90 bucks dang cameras are expensive! I want to go drop it off tonight so I don't have to have plain waffle blogs anymore. Anyways I gotta go before they want me to call in and win again!

FROLFING
I was so kindly reminded by Will that Matt got a HOLE IN ONE at the course in Idaho Falls this weekend! Congrats to him! (Sorry again camera broken so I didnt get a picture PLUS I wasnt even there) But thats a big exciting thing for Matt!
Disappointments~!
So here we go. The rest of the weekend was great! The weather was lovely and we enjoyed our family so much! I love hanging out with our family! BUT here are the Disappointments. #1, my camera broke!(Hence, no more pictures of the weekend if you would like to see more check out Nate and Kelly's Blog or the Wu's blog) I only see a black screen when I go to take pictures so I need to take that into a camera shop during lunch to see how much it is to fix, such a bummer! #2, was (sorry I'll say it) Pirates, I thought it was a great movie but it didn't live up to what I wanted it to. To be honest I fell asleep during a couple parts. I see what people mean by how confusing it is. I like stand alone movies in a series, where you can watch any movie from the trilogy and like it, not knowing about the others. With Pirates that is impossible. Having the 1st and 2nd fresh in my mind, I was still having to think about why things were going on, it was tricky. So I'll leave it with, YES I LIKED Pirates, but it was a bit of a disappointment. 3rd, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are coming to the Energy Solutions Arena on June 11th. Thinking about that, Matt woke me up this morning telling me he spoke like a Pirate on the radio this morning and won something for it and they would call back and tell me what it was. Well I left before they called back, ohh well. On my way to work I heard on that same radio station that if you were caller # 10 then you could play name that tune with Tim and Faith and win tickets! So after last year (where Matt and I won front row completely AWESOME tickets) I wanted to go again. So I call in and low and behold I was caller #10! I was so excited to win!!!! Well they were all ready to let me play then they asked me my last name "Spence" well then they said "whats your brothers name?" I said "Colton?" they said "what's your husbands name?" "Matthew?" they said "are you aware he won something this morning from us" I said "What?" then they said "you can't win, your husband won this morning, sorry honey BYE" WHAT I WAS SO IRKED!!! I was so going to win! They got some other guy on the phone and then the name that tune song was "you can kiss me in the moonlight on the roof top under the stars" Everyone knows that is Faith Hill's This Kiss.. I HAD THEM! I HAD THEM IN MY HOT HANDS AND I COULDN'T WIN!!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!!!! I WAS SO READY TO GO! HOW LAME! Well there are my disappointments. Good news is that I will keep trying to get in and use Kristin Wu as my name how about that! Hopefully I get in again! Anyways Hope everyone's Memorial Day was great! I enjoyed mine for sure!
P.S. I'll let you know what Matt won. It's probably something way lame.
P.S.S. He won a family 4 pack to the Parade of homes. LAME! Does anybody want them? We wont go pick them up we dont want them, but we'll get them if someone else wants them. Here is the kicker, I called to ask what Matt won and they told me, then I told the gal the whole thing that happened to me and she said no they had the rules wrong you could have won. Its only if your husband won the same thing that you were going to win. SO I called the DJ thats on the air right now and he confirmed the rule and I asked him to help me cheat and he said that he'll play the TIM and FAITH thingy in the next 10 minutes. I told him I would talk to him again really soon. HOPEFULLY. Keep your fingers crossed for me. I am even more bummed now... sniff sniff

Here we are in Rexburg.
Yellowstone was great!
We really enjoyed the Bison, the geysers, old faithful, the family and the weather. I'll just post a few pictures of the day.

Here's the quick story MATT IS CRAZY!
He went and walked down by a whole heard of Bison and one of them was totally eyeing him. As we drove into the park we got a little paper that said WARNING: Many visitors have been gored by Buffalo. Buffalo can weigh 2000 pounds and sprint at 30 miles per hour three times faster that you can run. DO NOT APPROACH BUFFALO! DANG, can you believe they can run that fast?
Anyways Kelly and I were freaking out for sure, we think Matt might have been trying to walk in between a mama and her two babies, that's why he was being watched so closely. Apparently the Bison are losing their winter coats that's why they look so mangy. Here is Old Faithful it's pretty well faithful. Nothing really exciting but I thought I would post the video anyways it's pretty long feel free to stop it mid-video.
Oh and in this picture H.D. says I look pregnant. I just had my camera and a granola bar in my pocket.

We're gonna take it ALL!
So yes it was Thursday night so its time for softball story time! Well first of all we won. 5-4. Here's the story. I am a chatty girl on the field, I play 2nd base and Matt pitches. If someone on the other team hits a homer I'll tell them that is was a great hit as they are jogging by. If they ask how many outs there are I'll tell them, and so on. Well at the beginning of the game they were talking with me being nice and such. Well the team we played was in 2nd place and we were in 3rd place. I think once they realized that we were going to beat them is when they started giving us the cold shoulder. There were some close questionable plays where the Umpire asked the opposing team a question and they flat out lied to get the out. There was no question that the guy lied to get the right call. Pretty crazy. So needless to say we won now we are tied with them, 4 wins 2 losses. Or we might over take them just because we beat them, I am not sure. ALSO we beat the team in first place too! So we are well on our way to the top, we play each team twice and I think we have the stuff to do it.
Matt is getting really good at pitching he can usually get it right in there. Little problem last night was the fact that these guys were shorter than usual so he kept bringing them in high. Notice me at second base, it was chilly that's why i was wearing my dorky running pants.
The reason I have little Jordan (who is the son of a couple on our team) on there is because after every game he runs the bases as fast as he can while Jared (his dad) "times" him and he slides into home. Look at that slide like a pro!
I just think its cute because that's exactly what I used to to with my older siblings and my mom. PLUS there is a bonus in the picture. Notice the opposing team! They were these HICK BUTCH people, well at least the women were. The guy in the green shorts is the dude who lied to try and win the game. Matt said that God was on our side you can't try and win a game by lying, so just for that we won for sure! Well we're off to Rexburg for the weekend I'll take a bunch of pictures so I can post on Monday, or sooner. OH SHOOT I FORGOT TO GET A SUBSTITUTE TEACHER FOR SUNDAY SCHOOL AND PRIMARY ON SUNDAY!!!! I better get on that! (anyone feel like going to church in Herriman that wants to be a teacher of a bunch of crazy 11 year olds?) Let me know!
I almost forgot to say this! I had this dream last night that Kristin and I were in the kitchen cooking (well if its the usual Kristin was cooking and I was her emotional support sitting on a stool or at the table) and Jason was sitting on the counter for some reason, but he decided to start crawling off and as he was falling I was jumping to catch him while screaming and I woke up clutching poor Matts arm and yelling. I dont know if he woke up or not but I thought "oh no, this kid is my nephew and I am freaking out this much? Man when I have kids I am going to be in trouble." I am sure you moms can agree.

Jeeps and Sneezes and Matts "Eyegasm's"
WARNING THIS IS A PLAIN WAFFLE BLOG SO IF YOU CANT DOWN WAFFLES WITH OUT SYRUP YOU MIGHT NOT WANT TO READ THIS, THERE ARE NO PICTURES!
Okay so yesterday we had a normal day at work and went down to Will and Kristin's to pick up our Jeep from their house and as we drive up there is the whole Wu Clan hopping out of OUR JEEP. They were driving it around! WHAT!!! Just Kidding we really really don't mind at all, they do enough for us that we will probably never be able to re-pay so use the Jeep all you want guys!
We then had yummy Beef and Broccoli for dinner then left to (of course) go disc golfing at Bi-Centennial park in Provo. There were A LOT of bugs Kristin I thought they were mosquito's at first then we realized that they were baby dragon flies. We got excited then because (I have been told by Kristin) that Dragon Flies eat Mosquito's. Matt and Will played all right nothing spectacular like Will's 5 under par or Matt's 4 under par. I think Will was even and Matt was 1 under, but it's still nice to get outside and enjoy the family and weather of summer.
Funny thing is Matt got a mosquito bite right under his right eye, like RIGHT under his eye. PLUS his allergy's were really, really, bad last night when we got back so it was extra hard for him not rub his eyes. He broke down in the shower and started rubbing his eyes when he pulled back the curtain to jump out I looked at him and his eyes were BRIGHT blue and around the blue was BRIGHT red and this HUGE lump of a mosquito bite. Next time you see Matt though watch how he rubs his eyes, It's a very exact motion he calls it his "eyegasm" when he does it. Anyways Poor guy was looking pretty bad so I drugged him up, put some Cortisone on his bug bite, and sent him off to bed. Kinda weird I think Herriman is a bad allergy place (probably because of all the fields around us) but our Allergies have been crazy this year. Hopefully we can get on some better medication soon so we can be happy and not sneezy.
Oh and we finally figured out and bought Braden's plane ticket to Phoenix for this summers Rochelle family reunion. I am glad to have that figured out finally! I am excited as well to meet the whole family on Matt's moms side.

Royal India, Shrek, and Good Company.
Well Indian Food isn't THAT bad. I ordered the Peppered Chicken and Matt ordered the Chicken Vindaloos. What ever that is! It's a different style of eating then I am used to, they don't care about appearance AT ALL. It just looks like a big glob of something with sauce on it. Then you put your globs with the sauce on the rice. Unfortunately on the menu it didn't say my chicken was smothered in ONIONS! YUCK I HATE ONIONS! So i picked around them they were really big fat long ones, and ate what i thought were chicken chunks. Matt said he enjoyed his food a lot and mine was okay. We also had a Lassi, It's a yogurt fruit drink. We all had Mango Lassi's which are a little different but those are good. Matt liking Mango's as much as he does, CHUGGED his of course. He cant get enough Mango's!The funny part about last night was the whole date scenario. Jeff and his blind date were good company, nice to talk with. But for a year or so I have been hearing from Jeff the type of chicks that he is set up with. Well I didn't think it was thaaat bad. To be honest I thought the girl was nice, but nice was pretty much it. We left the restaurant and all said/faked our goodbyes then we all got into our cars, as the girl drove off, Jeff immediately calls and says "uhh so you guys aren't going anywhere right, wanna see a movie?" We all laughed as we spoke about it with him. He said "Now you know all about my life of 'Blind Dating'" He said it was great having you guys! We just eat with her and if shes not great at least I have you guys right? Nice tactics Jeff, drag us along to every date! Matt and I don't mind, Jeff hands down is one of the most hilarious people we have ever met and it's always a good time with Jeff.
Actually Matt heard a story from Jeff about a timeshare scheme that he was suckered into going to a meeting for and was telling him all about the tactics they use to sell them and stuff (apparently its not an honest thing). So Matt walks right up to this Trendwest sales guy (who just so happened to be there with his stand and pamphlets kinda weird huh) at the movie theatre and started talking to the guy, got all set up for the meeting he will go next Tuesday night and he wants to see how many different salesmen they have to use against him to try to make him buy one. He absolutely wont buy he just wants to go. He wants to beat Jeff with his 4 salesman. They promise you a night stay at one place, or a cruise wherever and Matt wants to see if he can get them with out buying. He said "Everybody has to have a timeshare meeting experience once in their lives Mick." Hes such a silly guy. Wish him luck next Tuesday...Tuesday, May 22, 2007
Rexburg Fun & New Food
So Hello to everybody! Our Jeep wasn't too expensive to fix, it was just the starter motor so it cost us about $220. Still a bummer but do-able. So our plan is to still go up to Rexburg this weekend! Here are pictures of Rexburg a pretty sweet little po dunk town that our family calls home! HaHa I had to get out of there ASAP personally but its a cute little place to visit.
I spoke with H.D. and Britany last night and they said there are LOTS of things we can do. Canoeing, Hiking, Fishing, Going to Yellowstone, Hunting, Dirt Bike at the Sand dunes, Jet ski, and so on. I am not quite sure what everyone is up to. He also informed me the weekend should be really nice about 71 Degrees... WHAT 71 DEGREES YOU ARE NOT GETTING ME IN A SWIMSUIT IN 71 DEGREES! I think to me everything involving polar ice water will be out. I wouldn't mind the usual Bowling, Movie, out to dinner, BBQ at the park type stuff either, ohh or a trip to Yellowstone! That would be fun! We'll be taking Will and Kristin's car, yes with the bum door and all. Its okay Kristin and I don't mind crawling all over Jason to get to our seats! Also, tonight Matt and I are going on a double date with our good friend Jeff and another gal he was set up with. We are going to "Royal India" Indian food, that will be a first! I am not a good person when it comes to new types of food either so we'll see how it goes! Jeff is excited to pick some "good things out" but I am not quite sure. I'll let you guys know tomorrow if I like Indian food or not (chances are I wont but I'll try to have an open mind) Does anybody know about Indain food? Any recomendations? Here is the website to the place.

Meridian Softball time!
Matt and I are on a Co-ed softball team that my friend Jerrod and I started up with my work. Its a city league team and it is a lot of fun to play! We have quite a few inexperienced players but its great to help them learn and play. We are 3-2 right now, one of the losses Matt and I were gone. I wont say that's why we lost but.... JUST KIDDING! Anyways I am #2 and Matt is #9. We have some pretty intense games.
Last game we went into 3 extra innings. So I got up to bat and had to finish the game I swung as hard as I could and I hit the ball really hard ( you can usually accuse me of bunting which is illeagal, I am not a great hitter) The ball went about 10 ft. MAYBE, but I still got on first and had resolved to just take home. So the other Jared got up and hit one to far left Field and I took off. I was on second when they called the ball fowl so I came back. Jerrod who was the first base coach said "Mickie, you better hold on the fly." I said "I don't care I am taking home, I want to go home."It was about 11 and night and Matt and I live about 30 minutes away. So the next hit went to right center I knew the ball would drop so I took off. The center fielder had the ball by the time I got to 2nd but I didn't stop, I took third too! I knew it would be a close so one, as I went to down to slide the ball beaned me in the back. I was safe, but once I got up everyone said "Are you OKAY!!!?? Mickie are you okay? Where did the ball hit you!?" then it got quiet and Matt yells form the dug-out "MICK the ball didn't hit you in the head you should've been home!" Totally kidding and I knew that but no one else did.. then Matt turned around and said "uhh it was a joke" I don't think people understand our relationship sometimes. HaHa Needless to say I did make it home along with Jared and we won the game. PHEW it was a close one but we got it done 14-12! Now I have a beat up leg and a sore back but its the price you pay for Co-ed Softball!
So
here are the pictures, Matt can seriously whack the ball!
I know my legs are white I am working on getting a tan, it doesn't work that well... they seem to be always white. My arms are looking golden though!
Here is a team picture, not the greatest but it'll do.
By the way this weekend my Jeep broke, not sure what it is we'll have to see. Normally Matt would have just fixed it himself but we weren't sure if it was the starter motor, alternator, or just bad wiring somewhere. So it's in the shop, we'll find out today what is wrong with it and what the damage will be to our bank account. We are planning on going up to Rexburg Memorial Day weekend to visit Suzanne, HD, Britany (and little Sierra), Jordan, Nate, Kelly, and Tanner, with Will, Kristin, and Jason, but it all depends on how much our panther is to fix! Thanks to Uncle Ray who gave us a tow to the shop! It'll be a party in Rexburg if anyone else wants to join us! (MOM wink*wink*)

More pictures from Guatemala
I know I know probably seems boring but it was so cool down there! I figure I'll get of the Guatemala was AWESOME train tomorrow as for now...
This video is in Tikal by all the ruins Matt and Colton started mimicking the birds. If you listen close you can hear them respond in the same way Matt and Colt called to them.
So like Kristin said it was rather weird, everyone in Guatemala thought that Matt was Jason's dad. Jason LOVES his "bud" so whenever Kristin wasn't around Matt was definitely his next best bet. Poor Matt he was pretty much the surrogate dad and got a lot of compliments about how beautiful his son is. Kristin also got a lot of (speaking to Jason) "ohh are you sad? Maybe go find your dad he'll play with you" Kristin would think... umm back in Utah? Wha? HAHA
So we think that this is where we all got sick Chichicastenanga, I wanted to put this picture up so you could see a little bit of the market as well as the big GLOB of wiring just bunched up behind us like i said yesterday pretty sketchy. By the way Melissa, everybody who went on the trip got a bad case of Shigella, a nasty bug, and Doctor Wilcken (in the pictures below) was able to give me medication so I was okay to fly home with out having to hit the bathroom every 15 minutes. He was a LIFE saver.
Here is a picture of Antigua the first city we went to, it was so beautiful! Cobblestone streets with every building painted a different color, i had never seen anything like it before. Since we didn't have our camera thanks to Kristin for letting me use this picture.

Guatemala was amazing and made me understand why our country the good ole U S of A is so much better than other countries. The opportunities that Americans have, the knowledge and education that we get is FAR superior to what they are given down there. To be honest I wish I could have adopted a few of those little ones and taken them home I was so sad for them! So there you have it a little taste of the country called Guatemala.

Guatemala Trip
Guatemala was awesome! We went to church with Grandma and Grandpa to the C C M ( the Guatemala version on the MTC) the first day. Then we went to Antigua the second day, a nice little colonial city which someone left the camera at the C C M so we didn't get any pictures. The third and fourth day we went to Tikal, which is where all the ancient ruins are. All those temples were so dang cool! We hiked to the top of quite a few of them. The fifth and sixth days we went to Panajachel and Chichicastenanga where we did a lot of shopping and we took a boat ride across Lake Atitlan (the waters of mormon) to Santiago Guatemala and did a little more shopping. Then the last day I was pretty much dead so Matt and my grandparents took care of me and we went to the relief Map of Guatemala built in 1905. It was pretty cool but I almost lost my lunch while there. (wait I didn't eat lunch scratch that my 7up) Then we flew back home on Sunday! So there is our quick over view with a few pictures~ more to come tomorrow maybe i'll learn how to do videos!
Matt woke me up at 5 o clock in the morning to show me this. He heard a bunch of hoopin and hollerin from outside and saw those CRAZY Guatemalans putting THAT on a piece of sheet metal. The rest of the day they cut every little bit up to cook for lunch it was SO GROSS no wonder we all got sick. (its a really really big pig if you can't tell)
In Panajachel we went to so the monkeys. Matt fed them through the electric fence, AND of course Bobbie and Lou, Matt had to touch the electric fence... which had quite a zap to it. We fed the monkeys old Bananas and they loved them!
Matt gets way too daring with Colton and Doctor Wilcken (who by the way fixed me all up before we got home) and they walked out on the construction at the top of Temple IV which is about 70 meters high. Let me add Guatemalans do NOTHING to code NOTHING. Seriously the stairs were so sketchy, and the airplane, and the food, and the geez I could go on forever. They are hovering over the jungle with nothing but a few twist ties and 2 by 4's holding them there. Friday, May 18, 2007
Here we are The Spences!
I decided to start a little blog because I read everybody else's so religiously. I love to know whats going on with all ya'll so I thought, "well maybe they want to know whats up with us!" A few people have asked if we have a blog so I decided the people win! I will become a slave to the blogging addiction I have come to develop through everyone else. So here is a quick over view of Matt and I. We are both out of school for the summer, last semester we both got straight A's so yay right? We will be going to the "school up north" as I like to call it (for those of you that don't live in Utah The University of Utah) Although we do have an All-Sports pass for our beloved Cougars so don't worry, we wont change our minds Dad. Matt is Majoring in Business with emphasis in Corporate Finance and I am Majoring in Exercise Science with a Minor in Nutrition. Thinks are going well for us we are really enjoying our summer! We have been frolfing like crazy (Matt is addicted) with Will and Kristin and little Jason. We got back from Guatemala a few weeks ago and I am sure everybody has all ready heard our horror story about our little intestinal friends that hitched a ride back to the states with us. If you would like to know drop me a line and I'll enlighten you about our new found friend Cipro a lovely little miracle drug! I'll post pictures soon enough of our adventures once I go take "the ultimate blogging" course from Kristin who seems to be the MASTER at all of this! I currently work at a Title Company in Salt Lake and really enjoy what I do. It's not what I'll do forever I really just want to be a mom but for now it is great! Matt works a URS in downtown Salt Lake and he is trying to get a better position as we speak, something to do more with Finance so he can get some work experience under his belt. Well I think this is a long enough first blogging moment so I'll add more later. Maybe tonight once I see Kristin. I have some good stories to tell so keep checking in every once in a while!
