Last Monday for FHE we carved our pumpkins. Ty and Matt carved on and May and I carved the other.
Matt asked Ty what kind of face he wanted and Ty told him the shapes. Matt originally drew the nose and told Ty is was a circle and Ty said "No Dad, that's not a circle, that's an OVAL!" Haha

Maylee wanted to help me get to seeds out, I was surprised she would even stick her hand in there.
Then she promptly tried to eat it.
We did a cat. I finished after the kids were in bed.

Ty is going as an Astronaut (Thanks again Melissa for passing that on to Ty) He loves it and rides his ROCKET bike with it on and tells me. "5-4-3-2-1 BLAST OFF! TO THE MOON!" Forgive the goofy smile I'll probably get a better picture of him tonight, he's just so excitable!
Maylee is going as Little Red Riding Hood, if you couldn't tell. My dear mother whipped up the costume in a quarter of the time It would have taken me to make it. Isn't she the cutest? Perfect to use a basket for her treats. She carries it around everywhere when he has her "hood" on.
Emma has her fuzzy bunny blanket and hat on, there is a better smile from Ty.
They played Kick the Cone, he didn't go with as much speed the second time around as the first time. But the video is still fun.
Then they went over to the obstacle course. Maylee just tagged along where ever they went, she didn't really ever participate.
The night before this day Matt took the night shift with ALL the kids. He fed Emma at 11 pm, 3 am and 7 am. Ty tried to crawl into bed with us twice that night and Maylee was still cutting teeth and waking up quite a bit. I fell asleep at 10:30 pm and woke up at 7:30 am. I had no idea anything was even going on that night I slept so hard. Talk about Super Dad! I needed a good nights rest and I woke up a new person. THEN after that night he was still ready to take the kids to soccer. Seriously the guy is always my favorite but that particular morning I was so happy I could have cried! Okay back to soccer.
I love how you can hear Ty say at the end "I DID IT DAD!"
Next up was dribbling back and forth between goals and shooting the ball. Ty and Maylee were both characters. I know the video is long. He's pretty good a dribbling!
Then last but not least was Ty's favorite. THE PARACHUTE! So fun.
We think next "season" we'll sign Ty up to be on a team and play games. They would have 2 practices then 6 games. He did fairly well the various drills and we think he'll have more fun on a team. He really liked his coaches as well.
Wish I would have thought of something like this when I was in high school to do as a Senior Project- put on a 6-8 week clinic for little 3 year olds to learn soccer skills. Pretty sure his coaches were still in high school or maybe just graduated, perfect job in my book.
Kelly also took a few of Maylee. She is wearing a knit hat and robe/sweater/cardigan... (not sure what to call it) that her Great GrandBobbie also had her pictures taken in when she was Maylee's age. It's my understanding that her Grandma Holly did too, and all of Matt's girl cousins on the Rochelle side. Now it's on to the Great Grand Daughters in Ashlyn, Maylee, Capri and after Capri we'll do Emma. I wish I could track down all the pictures taken in it, that would be REALLY cool to see!
Anyway, Kelly and I love how they turned out.
I know I know, four of seemingly the same picture... but they are all so cute! Love this girl. The blue matches her eyes perfectly and the romper matches her hair quite well. It's really neat that my little girls can participate in such a cool tradition.
We are SO lucky to have such talented family members! Our amazing sister in law Kelly did a quick photo shoot last weekend of our little Emma. She was awake for the first 45 minutes then fell asleep. So Kelly good some good shots of her eyes open too.
Her eyes are all ready starting to lighten up quite a bit. I'm thinking they'll be blue just like her older brother and sister.
Yawn.

We tried to put her in the basket, she sank all the way in! The best we could do... Still cute.
Matt's bosses at his work gave Emma a gift. A beautiful blanket with a little bunny hat and carrot rattle. They also included the book The Runaway Bunny and a gift card. So sweet of them! We made sure to take some pictures of Emma with her little hat on to give to the bosses with their thank you cards. PLUS we didn't have anything for her to wear for Halloween. Of course now she's going to be a bunny :)
PRECIOUS! All it took for her to fall asleep was a hat, she LOVES to wear hats and be wrapped up nice and snug. Kelly was able to gently take off her bunny ears and sneak on a cute headband.
SO SWEET! We love this girl so much!

Our relationship started about five years ago. We were unsure of one another since I had never met anything like my Dear Friend. I was hesitant at first but after spending our first morning together I knew we would love each other and have a glorious relationship.
We've enjoyed so many times together that I am getting a little misty eyed thinking that we wont be together in the future; Weddings, Births, Vacations, Moving numerous times... each event, each day we had one another.
There were the rare times that we would spend just a few days with out one another and I would ALWAYS think about my Dear Friend. Oh how I'd miss our mornings, sometimes afternoons and our occasional little tete-e-tete's in the evening.
But now alas, our time has come to part ways. I am deeply saddened but I know it's time to move on. I can no longer pretend that our relationship works. It just plain doesn't, all the tender love and care that I am capable of can't fix you and it's taken me 2 weeks to even get up the nerve to break things off.
Good Bye Dear Friend, I'll always think back on our days together with fondness.
P.S. I know nothing can replace you (since your model isn't made anymore), but i'll try to find something really close.
We've been working on the dance moves our kids have been rockin'. Maylee has much better dance moves then Ty did at her age. Matt introduced the "Bum shake" the other night with the kids.
Ty was pretty excited that he learned how to shake his bum. Maylee didn't pick it up. We'll keep working on it.
Also, whenever the kids go on walks, or we go anywhere outside for that matter, Ty wants to pick a flower for me, more like a weed but we watch closely or he will pick a nice flower. Then Maylee thinking that Ty is just picking something up for me, grabs a leaf every time. Both came running in from their walk with Dad the other day. Ty said "Mom! I picked you a flower! Oh actually it's broken and dead." HAHA I laughed then May came right up after Ty and handed me a dead brown leaf. She was so excited about it, so I took a picture of my lovely pieces of nature that my children gave to me.
Whoa, has it really been THAT LONG since I blogged? Eeesh I am falling behind. I'm not going to lie this mom of three, (three and under) keeps you on your toes that is for sure. I have to get ready to go somewhere an hour before I actually leave, it seems, just to make it somewhere on time. So forgive me in advance if I am late, promise I am trying.
Last weekend we headed down to Medford and stayed with my parents. My Dad met little Emma and so did Nate and Kelly and their family. We headed over to their place on Saturday so Kelly could take some newborn pictures of Emma and so Ty and Maylee could get some good play time in. As usual they achieved their goal.

It was so eerie talking to Ashlyn. She gave me the SAME expressions that Maylee gives me. I told Kelly it's a little odd that these two have a similar look since I think Ashlyn looks a lot like Kelly and I think Maylee looks a lot like me, yet Kelly and I don't look alike. I love the chubby cheeks and big round blue eyes both girls have.
Tanner has obviously toned down his cheese face. Hopefully Ty will too with age.
These are the kids' funny faces... hmmm only the boys figured it out. Ty thinks his face he makes is hilarious! I think it's more of a scary face myself.
Ty asks constantly to go to his cousins houses (on both sides) too bad we don't live near anyone. Glad Nate and Kelly live in Medford though so we can get a cousin fix about once a month or so.

Yesterday our friends invited us over for dinner. So sweet of them, they live down the road so we took a little walk. Maylee and Emma were in the wagon and Ty on his bike. They loved it.
Tonight for Family Home Evening we made Caramel Apples. Gotta do all the festive stuff. What's left you ask? Pumpkin Carving! That's next weeks FHE activity I think.
The kids like apples. Ty was so excited that I put an apple on a stick that he started to eat it with out anything on it. We had to explain numerous times that he needed to wait and put Caramel on the outside first.
We didn't have to tell Maylee twice about the good stuff. She loved it!
Matt's apple is front and center, mine has the ring of chocolate on the right, Maylee's is in the back and Ty's is on the left.
We had the kids eat a few pieces of Ty's apple before bed. Maylee got QUITE sticky. Both of them actually ate the apple part too so not bad as far as treats go, right?
Where was Emma you ask? We bought a baby swing today. WHY ON EARTH DID WE WAIT SO LONG TO BUY A BABY SWING!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh piece and quiet. Emma's fussy time is between 8 and midnight usually. I'm hoping this is a trend.
This video cracks me up, i'm such a dork of course it's awkwardly long too. Anyway, we'll have to make SURE that Brother and Sister don't try to help Emma swing. They are usually pretty good about being careful but i'll be playing my best defense for the next while.Thankfully, there are straps to keep the lady in the seat.
Ty has perfected the cheese face and in turn he has taught his sister May how to do the same.

Grandma brought up a wagon for the kids, someone was giving it away so she snagged it for us. It's a pretty sweet wagon. Matt helped them put it together yesterday and took them for a ride to the mail box.
Yet again we get back to the cheese faces. I like this chin up posing too.

My mom snagged this rare gem while Emma was awake and being burped by Matt. This little face just melts my heart all ready... amazing how that works.
Two out of the three smiling? Not bad, not bad at all. Haha.
Welcome Emma, you're in for a lot of LOVE, get used to it darling.
I just realized that I forgot to explain how we decided on Emma ("We" is in the loosest sense...) It was actually the name I originally wanted. Matt's name he liked was Abigail. Neither of us were passionate about either, so I told Matt decide.
I liked Emma for two reasons
Reason #1 when I was looking into our family history for names I found that Emma was the name of my Maternal Grandfathers (Grandpa Coombs) Grandmother... So my Great Great Grandmothers name was Emma.
Reason #2 is if you know me, you know I am a big Jane Austen fan. Not obsessive of course, but Pride and Prejudice is my all time favorite book. Another book that Jane Austen wrote that I enjoy is, yep you guessed it, Emma. So it's a family name AND I got to sneak in a little Jane Austen flare :) Maylee's middle name is Elizabeth which is Matt's Fathers Mothers name and of course it's the main characters name in Pride and Prejudice.
Emma's middle name Marie, is quite common, but it is also Suzanne's middle name. Here's the thing, Suzanne Marie wasn't named after anyone. My parents just liked the name. Everyone of the kids in our family are named after someone, i'm named after TWO people! She's felt a little short changed in the past and maybe now about it all. When Matt and I were discussing middle names he thought that since Suzanne wasn't named after anyone that we should name our lady after her to make up the difference. I thought that was really sweet of Matt so I quickly agreed.
Matt said that he needed to wait until Emma was born to see if she was an Abigail or an Emma. I have no idea how he really decided. He said if she had dark hair it would be Abigail and light hair it would be Emma but when a baby is born, if they even HAVE any hair is going to be a little darker because it's uhh wet. No matter really, within the minute she was born and they put her on me I turned to Matt and said "So?" He looked down and said, "That's our Emma." and that was it.
She's our Emma.
It's blurry I know, the other day coming back from the Library I looked back to see this. I thought Ty was asleep and was about to take another picture when Ty popped his head up and said "Mom! Can I see the pitch-ur?" Ahh so he was faking it... but not really, it was still cute and unstaged.
The first morning Emma was home Ty came running in knowing that Emma would be in my room he snuggled right into her and said "Oh Hi Sweetheart, I love you." The most precious thing ever. For the record that is what Matt says to his girls, so he was following his Dad's example. Needless to say I don't mind at all if Ty ends up just like his Dad, he's pretty much top notch.
What is the Tender Mercy this week... that's an easy one, a healthy little newborn baby! Seriously! If you all remember how it was with Ty and Maylee, Emma is a dream come true. Maybe it's partly because we've just figured out our kids and know what to expect, like going straight to Soy instead of screwing around with anything milk based. The other part is definitely heaven sent. She is happy, healthy and a perfect edition to our family. Also, I think both Matt and I were better emotionally equipped this go round as well to welcome a newborn. Weird to think that since Miss Emma was a surprise to our family but it seems like we're settling in as it was all planned out that way. Matt is sleeping fairly well and getting through the work days just fine (I think). Emma is sleeping okay at night but luckily it's only me (and my mom for now) that are up with her late so everyone else can rest. I don't mind since I can nap during the day. Hopefully when my mom leaves on Friday it wont be too much of an adjustment and I can manage three all on my own.
Now onto more pictures...
Another reason Grandma is fun to have around, she gives the kids treats... like crazy sucker things that turn my childrens' mouths and teeth and lips and faces and clothing berry blue. Just what I like.
Emma had her first bath at home. She did okay, as you can tell Maylee was ready for the picture. I don't think anyone else was though.
Here is little Emma with her favorite blanket. Wrap her up in that and put her hat on and she'll be totally asleep within minutes.
Last Saturday we took the opportunity to go to the pumpkin patch while my mom was here to help. It was a warm, dry, WINDY day. It wasn't unbearably windy, but some gusts were quite dusty. I think fun was had by all regardless of the weather conditions though. We went to the same patch as last year so we knew what to expect. We also went earlier in the season so their pumpkin selection was WAY bigger.
Ty saw this big hay stack pyramid the second we walked in, he raced to the top.
We tried to get Maylee to walk along it but I think the hay was too pokey on her legs to climb it.
Matt and Ty however army crawled through the interior tunnels and jumped around for a while.
The kids went over to the animals and even pet a few. We saw ducks, chickens, a cow, a donkey, goats, piglets, and geese.
Ty also liked riding the tractor around, normally his eyes would be open during this cheese face but it was probably really windy at the moment and he'd say "Mom the dirt is in mine eyes!"
There was a huge pit of corn kernels and a bunch of diggers and shovel for kids to play (kind of like a sand pit) well some of the kernels made it out of the pit into the wagon so May was dumping them onto the ground.
Next we launched some pumpkins. Ty and Matt always have a great time with this.
We didn't get to do as many launches this year as last you though, it was too busy to take our sweet time.
Mom and I even took a try. My mom's went WAY far and mine didn't go far enough.
We took a hay ride behind a tractor, which is one of Ty's favorites, to the pumpkin patch. The kids rode in the wheel barrow even though we didn't go too far.
Ty picked out a pumpkin, Matt's is actually the small one that Maylee has.
My mom picked out a tall skinnier one and Matt picked out another big one, the two big ones will remain un-carved we'll just carve the two smaller ones.
As you get off the hay ride with your pumpkins they have a washing station. Ty and Maylee liked helping Matt scrub our pumpkins all clean.
After we picked our pumpkins and put them in the car it was time for the Corn Maze. I made it about 5 minutes before I decided walking that much after having a baby only 4 days earlier wasnt such a good idea so I went back to the entrance and sat down while my mom Matt Ty and Maylee wandered around. They didn't have a map for us when we walked in since they ran out but they found a map shortly after and made their way out. Maylee fell asleep while my mom held her.
Last but not least Grandma made sure Ty took a pony ride. He LOVED it and was quite upset to get off.
We got our Apple Ciders and Hot Cocoa for the road and took off for home. It was a fun day at the patch and even Emma did really well until the last little bit there. The Baby Bjorn carrier worked wonders and protected her nicely from the windy day. She slept almost the entire time.
