Ty started Fall session of Pre-school 2 weeks ago. He loves it of course. Ty's expression in this picture cracks me up.
Maylee wanted to go to Pre-school too, she's too young still but she decided to pack a bag and go too. She packed a few balls, toys, a granola bar and a string cheese. She wanted her picture taken then Ty had to jump in and be silly.
The second attempt worked much better.
She was sad that Ty went to school the first day. Now I think she is okay with it. There has been a shift recently where Emma is actually good at playing with Maylee, so they've enjoyed time time play with one another doing girly things, not racing and wrestling like Ty likes to do with them.
Also, nearly every night Matt has been working with Ty on his numbers. He can count to 14 (he skips 15 for some reason) he can write and recognize 1-12 easily though so Matt introduced addition and subtraction to him a few months ago. He draws circles and counts them. I am surprised at how well he does for a kid that isn't even in kindergarten yet. He is starting to do small problems in his head too. He likes to write long notes to me (like he wrote at the top) which is really just a bunch of letters. He can read some really small words but for the most part we're still working on what sounds each letter makes. He's really excited to learn all this so it makes it easy. I dread the day when he isn't excited to learn, hopefully that day doesn't come anytime soon.

Our New Baby
No, i'm not pregnant... we got a new (used) car! It's a 2011 Honda Pilot EX-L. It's White with Gray interior. It seats 8, has leather seats, a moon roof, sheer awesomeness, a back up camera, dual seat warmers, 4 Wheel Drive, immeasurable comfort, dual climate control, tow package, 46k miles, extra beefiness, a 4 inch lift, roof rack, weatherproof interior mats, happiness, tinted windows and not a single scratch or dent.
It is so great for our family, can you tell how excited I am to have a family car we actually fit in? Emma can no longer kick Maylee or Ty in the face while we drive! How great is THAT! It has a few more miles on it than we would have liked but for the price we paid, it was perfect.
The kids were so excited to see it delivered. Probably because that is all I had been doing for the last 7 months, looking at Honda Pilot's on-line and they finally got to SEE one and RIDE in one.
There she is, our new "big" car as Ty calls it. Ty nor Maylee can get in to it, with out great effort because it's so high up. We're going to get the foot rails put on hopefully very soon.
Next week we get to drive it down to Medford for Thanksgiving. We can't wait to try it out through some mountain passes and for an extended period of time. I all ready get in our reliable little Corolla and feel like it's chopped liver. I feel so spoiled in our Pilot!

Halloween!
How have I not blogged Halloween yet!
The Saturday before Halloween we were invited to a Halloween Party at our friends house, the Thomas Family. Angela and I are both in the Primary Presidency. I got some pictures of the kids before we left. Emma's were the toughest to get so I didn't make her re-take on Halloween.
She was a cute little butterfly. I made her skirt and headband.
Such a cutie.
At the party the kids played hard! We had soup and scones for dinner which was fun since that is what my Grandma Coombs always makes for parties. They jumped and jumped and jumped.
I don't think Ty ever got off the trampoline.
Angela had a bunch of fun games and activities for the kids. She had cookie decorating which was definitely a fun part for my kids.
Ty decorated next to Adalyn his friend.
We had the ward Halloween party the night before Halloween. The kids loved wandering the halls trick or treating inside and watching movies and eating treats.
The next day Matt's work had a Halloween party as well that we went to, Ty was so excited to go to THREE parties! We went trick or treating to Matt's co-workers around the office and headed downstairs for some snacks and games. They also had a costume contest for the kids.
I love how Ty and Maylee are holding hands... they like to hold hands. Emma is about to run so this was a rare shot.
Maylee was Sofia the First. My mom sewed the lovely dress I sewed on a lot of the pearls and Suzanne made the sparkly vinyl that made the flower design on the bottom. She was really cute telling people that she was Fia! When Trick or Treating everyone knew who she was, at Matt's work around people who don't have young kids they just called her a princess, which was close enough for her.
Ty was Dash from the Incredible's. He was the PERFECT Dash. He ran at full speed everywhere he went with a big smile on his face. We left Matt's work party a little early to get home and eat some Pizza before Trick or Treating. Matt went in to work the next day and found out that Ty won the costume contest! He won a gift card to Big Al's Bowling for the family. We're going to go tomorrow night.
Maylee was a good little trick or treater, trying to keep up with Ty.
Emma and I went along to about 15 houses, then we headed back to pass out candy ourselves while May and Ty continued on with Matt.
When the kids got back their buckets were pretty darn full. We bought a lot of candy but we were out by about 7:45. Ty was concerned about all the kids that wouldn't get candy from us. We told him it was okay, we just passed out all our candy and we didn't have any more. He told me of course we have more candy! He went and grabbed his bucket and dumped all his candy in the bowl. We explained to him over and over that if he passed out his candy then he couldn't have it, he said he had a lot so it was okay. He also talked Maylee into dumping her whole bucket in our bowl. He and his sisters joyfully passed out his and Maylee's candy the rest of the night. After all the trick or treaters we done for the night we still had a small amount of candy left. I was happy to not have a TON of candy like we had before and Ty was happy that he passed out a ton of candy.
